At Kits, we believe childhood is where style begins. It is a world filled with freedom, imagination, and care, and we design with that spirit in mind.
Each pair of Kits is designed in New Orleans and handmade in León using washable cotton canvas and lightweight soles that move naturally with every step. Our shoes slip on easily, fasten with Velcro straps, and encourage independence while standing up to the scuffs of real play.
We focus on doing a few things exceptionally well: making durable, beautiful shoes that feel as whimsical as they are practical. Thoughtful details. Classic colors. Nothing unnecessary. Simply the essentials, made well.
a note from me
Kits began in the quiet hours of nap time, with sketches scattered across my kitchen table and my two little boys as my inspiration. I kept searching for shoes that felt as beautiful and thoughtful as the rest of childhood but nothing quite fit. So I decided to make them myself.
What began as a personal project quickly became a mission: to create children’s shoes that honor the beauty of these fleeting years — simple, timeless, and built for real life. Kits is, in many ways, a reflection of motherhood itself: finding beauty in the practical and slowing down long enough to notice the magic in small things like a morning walk, a muddy shoe, a child’s first independent step.
Each pair is made with the hope that it becomes part of your child’s story — one more thread in the fabric of these precious little years.
